Letters of recommendation : if an
applicant has applied within the last two years and received a
decision, only one letter is required. One of these
recommendations should be written by a current supervisor or
manager. The second recommendation should be from someone who can
evaluate the applicants professional performance as well as
their managerial and leadership potential (e.g. a former
supervisor, previous employer, client, etc.) If applicants are
unable to ask a current supervisor or manager for a letter of
recommendation, they should include a brief statement regarding
their choice in the Additional Information section of Part II of
the application

Essay Instructions: Please include the essay prompt in
bold at the top of the page. Please use 12-point Times New Roman
font, line spacing at 1.5 lines and 1-inch margins
Essay 1 : Leadership and teamwork are
integral parts of the Kellogg experience. Describe a recent and
meaningful time you were a leader. What challenges did you face,
and what did you learn? (450 words)
Essay 2 : Pursuing an MBA is a catalyst for
personal and professional growth. How have you grown in the past?
How do you intend to grow at Kellogg? (450 words)
Additional Information : If needed, use this
section to briefly describe any extenuating circumstances (e.g.
unexplained gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders,
inconsistent or questionable academic performance, etc.)
Video Essay Info : After submitting a completed
application, each applicant will be asked to complete two Video
Essay Questions. One will be about the candidates interest
in Kellogg and the other will be a getting to know you
type of question.
There are 10 practice questions which candidates can complete as
many times as they like to get comfortable with the format and
technology. The practice questions and experience will simulate the
actual video essay experience, so this is meant to be a useful tool
and help applicants feel prepared.
There is not an opportunity to re-do the answer to the official
video essay questions. We encourage applicants to practice so they
are comfortable with the format once it is time to complete the
official questions.
Candidates will have 20 seconds to think about their question
and up to 1 minute to give their response.
We estimate the Video Essays will take 15-20 minutes to complete
which includes time for set-up and answering all the practice
questions.

Assume you are
evaluating your application from the perspective of a student member
of the Kellogg Admissions Committee. Why would you and your peers
select you for admission, and what impact would you make as a member
of the Kellogg community? (600 word limit).
Thinking from the point of view of a Kellogg student, I would
want any newcomer to my peer group to be an active, energetic,
diversely talented, experienced, articulate and contributing
person. Keeping this in mind, I earnestly believe my peers
expectations will be well met as I will bring to the class a
varied experience, consisting of Upstream Energy industry, strong
analytical skills, and insights about Energy industry, Indian
business ecosystem and diverse life interests.
. I scored highest marks in almost every open-book
exam and lab work during my stay at IIT and performed
outstandingly during my Oooo training, scoring the highest marks
among 300 new recruits. At Kellogg, where academic excellence is
relentlessly pursued, I believe my proven track record in the

Multiple involvements keep one focused, occupied
and energetic and infuse various business skills such as
